Side Quest - Export for 3D Printing

If you have a 3D printer, this branch shows how to export your first simple solid for slicing.

Step 1 - Select the solid

Select the final solid or Body in the model tree.

Why?You want to export the finished shape, not only the sketch that created it.

Step 2 - Export STL

Use File -> Export and choose an STL file format.

NoteThis creates a file for your slicer. It is not the same as saving the FreeCAD model. Keep your FCStd file too.
